Web Publishing Resources
- A website you can update yourself can be a big help if you want to save time, money and eliminate the extra step of scheduling when you might be ready to make changes right away. Doing this usually requires a minimum amount of training that we are happy to provide.
- A blog can be a valuable addition to your online presence and can even serve as your primary website. As with any updatable-by-you site, there’s a learning curve, but there’s also plenty of easily accessible help available online or in the form of training and tech support we can provide.
- An online portfolio or image gallery, if you are a creative person, can be critical to bringing in work and is one of the most direct ways for more people see the best of what you do.
- Online photo sharing accounts are more than just a place to store your photos. They can also serve as an alternative online portfolio, focus on images from one or more events, or be a record of work in progress. Like a website or a blog, an online photo stream is an effective way to increase your web presence and provides another destination for people with an interest in the visual aspects of your work.
- Email newsletters keep you in contact with the people you already know, or can be used to get the word out to others. An email strategy can be as simple as a monthly update to an existing list, or be designed to get new people and potential clients onto your list in order to receive the newsletter, examples of your work, and more.
Creating or Updating Web Content
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) includes generating a list of recommended keywords to incorporate into your web copy, based on your product or services. Keywords go a long way toward helping make your site more visible to search engines. Adding custom page titles and descriptions control how your web pages appear in search results. Listing your studio, work site or business address on Google maps for local businesses also increases your online “findability.”
- Editing written content for the web. You provide the copy and we optimize it for reading online. This includes, where appropriate: adding keywords, adjusting paragraph length, adding headings and subheadings or breaking out text into bulleted lists.
Designing Graphics
- Graphic content, whether it’s a logo, a custom web page header, other site graphics or photography. Graphics and images help visually guide people through your site and keeps them engaged with the content, so they are more likely to stay on your website and look around.
- A carefully selected color pallet, once it’s created, becomes a vital component of your website and your brand. This color scheme is also used for business cards, slide presentations, or printed pieces to create a cohesive set of promotional or marketing materials.
Optimizing images for the web
- Scanning and digital photography. If you need it, we can provide image capture and digital file creation and ensure your images are processed so they look their best online. In addition, we can associate titles, captions, descriptions and copyright information so it displays with your images on screen.
Printed Materials
- A custom designed print postcard is a great way to drive traffic to your website and spread the word about your work, your services or your business. In addition to the printed piece, a digital version of your design can be created to include in an email announcing your website launch, an opening or event or to send as a holiday greeting.
PDFs
- A flexible file format designed for sharing electronically, a PDF (Portable Document Format) is a digital document that can be linked to a web page, sent as an email attachment, or burned to a CD. Some uses for PDFs include printable brochures, newsletters, flyers, or file downloads. A PDF can be formatted for press quality printing, desktop printing or be optimized for screen viewing. Interactive PDFs can be created to include things like internal navigation, forms or links to websites.
