What We Do

Art Deco lobsterCross-Media Publishing
More than a few DaysWork projects fall under the category of “cross-media publishing” — a term for getting content in front of people using multiple technologies, or “platforms.” This can mean publishing the material in a book and on a website; in a printed brochure, a web page and an interactive PDF; in an email and on a printed postcard — or any number of combinations of the above and more.

Options for Online Publishing
Recently we’ve helped clients take advantage of technologies that offer new opportunities for publishing online. Weblogs (“blogs”) are the most well-known example of self-publishing. Bloggers use a content management system — or CMS — as the publishing platform, allowing them to post articles and manage comments and other site content.

Content management systems are also a good choice for static web sites that are updated regularly, have multiple authors, or for those that combine static pages with interactive content, like searchable archives, visitor commenting or file downloads.

Using Content Management
Building a web site with an online CMS allows the individual writer, artist, educator or business person to make additions and changes with little or no knowledge of HTML. With a CMS-built website, the content provider — whether an individual, an organization or a business — can take advantage of the various benefits of both static and interactive content in online publishing.

How We Can Help
At DaysWork we can help you navigate these creative and technology-related choices, to assure that the publishing platform best suits the specific requirements of each project.
